Bruce Lambert
Obituary
1957 - 2023
With sorrow in our hearts, we wish to announce the passing of our dear uncle, great-uncle, pseudo-dad, brother, and friend who has left us to join his loved ones in heaven. Bruce “Bambi” passed away peacefully, November 12, 2023.
Bambi lived a full life with the consideration about the broader state of humanity, had a dynamic personality and magnetic influence over the individuals in his life. He will be remembered as a friend to all, loyal, caring, savvy, fun, generous, wise and nurturing to those he cared for.
He was a graduate of Westminster College and served as the student body president. He was passionate about his life, his thoughts and those in his circle, lived by a traditional set of ethical principles and loved the energy his sports memorabilia and collectibles added to his life. He was an epicure, foody and indulge in flavors. He was a stylish dresser and in his older years his clothing always promoted the University of Utah Utes and other sports teams. He travelled the world, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in Alaska, animals, his dog companions, a University of Utah Ute to the core, a multidimensional artist, and a social butterfly.
Bruce always carried a part of his british Mum, Joy with him. One of Bruce’s loves was his creation and ownership of the Ashbury Pub. Just like the old British pubs used to gather local communities to solve problems together and socialize, Bruce wanted Utah locals to meet their friends, simply unwind and offer a place where everyone is equal. After Bruce’s Pub closed he worked with Evolution Ski Company where he promoted quality telemark, alpine and snowboard equipment. The company was an official licensee for the 2002 Winter Olympics, which Bruce enjoyed that time in Utah’s history. During his tenure he worked with many Utah Jazz players among other talented professionals.
Bruce was the most resilient individual and lived many years with a variety of health issues and over time his quality of life diminished. We wish to acknowledge all the friends, neighbors, family and healthcare providers who over the years took time to care and love Bruce. All your love, care and treatment gave him strength to live and he was very grateful. A special loving thank you to his CNA Laura Alvarado.
He leaves behind a brother, his nieces and nephews, 10 great-nieces and nephews, his beloved dog – Wrigley, Beta Theta Pi Brothers (deep lifelong friendships) and a host of other family members and friends. Bruce has joined those who proceeded him in death- his parents, a brother and sister and two of his dogs Lucy Blu & Cindy.
In lieu of funeral services, we are holding a celebration of life on November 29, 2023, at 6:00 pm at the Ken Garff University Club, located at Rice-Eccles Stadium 451 S 1400 E. Guests will park on the West side of the Stadium and the entrance is located on the South side.
If you desire to contribute to Bruce’s memory, we are going to have a bench plaque/bench placed at Davis Park near his home, donations to be made to his niece Cacia Lambert by Venmo @cacia-harris (Please note on Vemno that it’s for Bruce); any remaining funds will be put toward funeral expenses and donated to the Salt Lake County Animal Shelter.
Laugh loud and run free big guy. You will be missed.
