1956 - 2021


Karl Jensen obituary, 1956-2021, Salt Lake City, UTSalt Lake City, Utah—Karl Hal Jensen, age 64, passed away on March 23rd, 2021 from complications with diabetes. He was born in Salt Lake City to Lamont and Helen Jensen. He was a 1975 graduate of Highland High school and due to his love of space and astronomy helped to found the Utah Astronomy Club during his time there. After high school he served as a missionary in France and Switzerland for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 2 years. After returning home he then married his former wife, Deborah, and together they were blessed with 6 children. Karl got his MBA in marketing from University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of business in 1983 and was noted for his skill in print media and graphic design. He later went on to teach at the Salt Lake Community College where he helped many students get over their fears of public speaking. He was preceded in death by his brother Larry and his son Timothy. He is survived by his 5 children, Neil, Eric, Seth, Lauren, and Noah and their mother, Deborah, as well as his older brother, Dean and two sisters, Ruth and Barbara. Now he finally gets the chance to explore the heavens like he always dreamed. There will be a service for him at the Imperial First Ward (2738 South Fillmore Street, Salt Lake City) Wednesday, April 7th at 11:30 AM.
