It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wendy Giles Carmean, she left this world on 12 August 2023, as she embarked on her journey to eternity. Her departure has left a void that can never be filled, but her memory will forever remain etched in our hearts.
Wendy was born on 17 December 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Adrian and Shirley Giles. She grew up traveling with her family until settling down in Utah with her husband Jerry Carmean, and had 4 children together. Throughout her life, Wendy was a beacon of light, radiating warmth, kindness, and generosity to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her unwavering dedication to her faith, family, friends, and neighbors earned her a special place in the hearts of those who had the privilege of crossing her path.
Wendy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Although she wanted to be an astronaut, Wendy cherished her role as a nurse, caregiver, and nurturer instead. Her home was a haven of comfort and love, always open to those in need. She had an exceptional ability to make everyone feel valued and heard, offering her wisdom and support without hesitation.
Wendy had a passion for Sci-Fi shows, gardening, painting, sewing, cooking, and spending quality time with her family. Her green thumb transformed her backyard into a vibrant oasis, reflecting her nurturing nature. Her delicious meals were not only a testament to her culinary skills but also a reflection of the love she poured into every aspect of her life.
Beyond her family roles, Wendy was a beacon of creativity and inspiration. An accomplished artist, she had an innate ability to capture the beauty of the world around her through her paintings and cross-stitch. Her works of art will forever serve as a testament to her boundless talent and her unique perspective on life's wonders.
Wendy leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness that will be cherished by her late husband; Jerry Carmean, brother, Rick (Myrla) Giles; sister, Debbie (Scott) Purdie; children, Sarah (Spencer) Twitchell, Timothy (Jennifer) Carmean, Jonathon (Jessica) Carmean, and Steven (Melissa) Carmean; and her adoring 15 grandchildren. She also leaves behind a multitude of friends and acquaintances who were touched by her genuine friendship and unwavering support.
In honoring Wendy's memory, let us strive to emulate her boundless compassion and generosity. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever guide us in our daily lives. The impact she made on our hearts and in our community will live on, a testament to a life well-lived and a soul deeply loved.
A Celebration of Life for Wendy Giles Carmean will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 7525 W. Washington Road (3735 South), Magna, Utah.
A Viewing will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 10:00 to 10:45 am, followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 270 N. 900 E. American Fork, Utah. Interment in Herriman City Cemetery.
Wendy's light may have dimmed in our world, but it will forever shine brightly in our memories. May she rest with her heavenly father, knowing that her legacy of love will continue to thrive in the lives she has touched here on earth.
