Mark was born on February 21st, 1957 and passed away on June 2nd, 2026.
Mark Dana Curtis, 69, beloved son of Elman and Madalyn Curtis, passed away on June 2, 2026, from complications of Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia. He is survived by his wife Kathy Loffer Curtis, married June 19, 2020, and her children Jennifer, Teri, Carin, Beth, Michael, Shawn, and Zach, his children Trevor, Mary, and Joshua, and siblings Robert, Christopher, Lorri, Opal, and David. Mark was also a proud grandfather to eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mark was married to Diane Louise Utley on July 31, 1978, and sealed to her in the Salt Lake Temple on August 6, 1979. He was preceded in death by Diane, their son Kendall, and siblings Lynne Lougy, Kathy Goudy, and Janette Featherstone.
Mark was a beloved son, husband, and father to a forever family. He was a prolific architect and designer, having worked on many residential and commercial projects. Mark devoted himself to the study of architecture as well as artistic pursuits including writing poetry, photography, playing the guitar, and painting. Mark is considered the leading design expert on the Gardo House, a grand home built by Brigham Young in the early days of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City. Mark also held many callings and responsibilities in the Church, serving in the Bishopric and in ward councils.

A viewing for Mark Curtis will be held at Tate Mortuary located at 110 S Main St, Tooele, Utah on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 9:30-10:45am, followed by a funeral service for family and friends at 11:00am. A link to view the service as a livestream or recording can be found on the Tate Mortuary website. Mark will be laid to rest in the Tooele City Cemetery next to Diane following the funeral service.
